  7.           Typemate  is a complete(ly)  menu-orientated typing  course.
  8.           Within  the  structure  of  the  menu   one  can  chose  the
  9.           following:
  10.  
  11.        -    Instructions for  touch typing:  a description of  how the
  12.           keyboard  should  be  used,  how  the  fingers  are used  in
  13.           relation to one another and other practical information.
  14.  
  15.        -    Finger positions. This menu option indicates with the help
  16.           of ASCII-graphics, which fingers should use which keys.
  17.  
  18.        -    Start your lesson. This menu option is especially suitable
  19.           for beginners.  The user can choose from 6 lessons, in which
  20.           the number  of keys for touch typing is gradually  increased
  21.           in a didactically responsible sequence. The criteria for the
  22.           continuation to  the next lesson are  built in  according to
  23.           the rules of an officially recognized typewriting course.

  25.        -    Measure typing speed. Here the user can introduce any text
  26.           of whatever length. After completion, he presses {Enter} and
  27.           then his typing speed will be calculated.
  28.  
  29.        -     Exercise with  separate characters. The user can exercise
  30.           by  using  characters,  which  he can enter  himself.  These
  31.           characters will appear to him on the screen in ever changing
  32.           sequence which he will have to copy by touch typing. In this
  33.           way speed and accuracy will be calculated every time.

  35.        -    Exercise  with words and sentences. There is a possibility
  36.           to  exercise  with separate  words  and  complete sentences,
  37.           which  are   brought  forward   from   any  chosen  external
  38.           ASCII-file and which should  be copied by the user  by touch
  39.           typing. Speed and accuracy will be calculated every time. By
  40.           using external files  the amount  of exercise material is in
  41.           principle  never  ending and  also  extremely  suitable  for
  42.           advanced typists who want to increase their typing speed.

  44.           When the  user touches the keys, other than within the  menu
  45.           or  as  a  reaction  to  an interactive  question,  a  speed
  46.           indicator  will,  if   required  and   with   the   help  of
  47.           ASCII-graphics, be shown  on  the  screen,  which will  give
  48.           real-time the average speed at that particular moment.

  50.           Typemate is  suitable for  the German/Swiss QWERTZ-keyboard,
  51.           as well  as  for the  Belgium/French AZERTY-keyboard and all
  52.           QWERTY-keyboards (the rest).

  54.           In  every typed exercise  the  time  taken,  the  amount  of
  55.           keystrokes, the number of mistakes,  the  speed and accuracy
  56.           are calculated.

  58.           Typemate is  available in the  following  languages:  Dutch,
  59.           English, French, German and Spanish.
